What a US LLC costs to keep each year

Forming the company is a one-off. Keeping it is not: the registered agent renews, the state charges every year, and Form 5472 is due every April. Choose who files it and whether you want a US address, and see the total with each formation service.

Disclosure Links to providers on this page earn this site nothing. They go to the provider’s own site unmodified, with no tracking parameters. If that ever changes, this notice changes with it. Full disclosure.

Over 3 years, the lowest total is $1,217, forming with Wyoming Registered Agent Services. From the second year, the cheapest way to keep the company costs $384 a year with your choices.

Published prices only, from each provider’s own page and the state’s fee schedule, checked October 2026. State charges are Wyoming’s except where a service forms only in Delaware. Bank fees, bookkeeping and your own tax return are not included.

How it is worked out

The company: each formation service’s first year (its fee, the registered agent for year one and the state filing fee), then, for every year after, the agent’s renewal, the state’s annual charge and the service’s own fee where it is a subscription. These are the two totals in the formation comparison.

On top of that, every year: filing Form 5472 with the pro forma 1120, at the price in the Form 5472 comparison or nothing if you file it yourself, and a US business address if you want one, at twelve months of the plan in the business address comparison. Missing Form 5472 carries a $25,000 penalty, so filing it yourself saves the fee but not the work.

Some formation services sell plans that include the federal filing. Those plans cost more than the ones compared here; the formation table’s Form 5472 column shows each service’s position.
