Formation

Which US banks and formation services serve founders in your country

Where you live can decide which US business account you can open. Here are 8 countries checked against the country rules each of 6 US business accounts and 10 formation services publishes on its own site. None of the 10 formation services publishes a restriction on any of them; the difference is in the bank accounts.

US business accounts, by country

Out of 6 accounts. “Says nothing” means the provider publishes no rule about where owners live, which is not the same as accepting them.

How to read it

  • Providers count different things. Mercury looks at the country where the founder lives, Relay at citizenship or residence, and Bluevine only accepts owners living in 25 listed countries.
  • A provider that publishes no rule may still decline an application after review. Ask its support in writing before you pay for a company you plan to bank with it.
  • Providers change these lists without notice. Each country page links the page every statement was read on, with the date.

Keep going

Read on each provider’s own website in September 2026. Only what a provider publishes is recorded; nothing is inferred. Not legal or compliance advice.
