Business FX payment cost calculator

A plan fee, a percentage and a fee per payment add up differently for one large payment than for many small ones. Enter what your business sends from pounds to US dollars in a month and see what each provider charges for it, cheapest first.

Disclosure Links to providers on this page earn this site nothing. They go to the provider’s own site unmodified, with no tracking parameters. If that ever changes, this notice changes with it. Full disclosure.

For 1 payment of £10,000 a month (£10,000 in all), the lowest published cost is £35.00 a month, at Revolut Business Grow and Wise Business.

Published fees only, from each provider’s own pricing page or fee schedule, checked October 2026. The percentage is the one for pounds to US dollars; other currencies can cost more.

How it is worked out

Three parts, added up for the month. The conversion: each provider’s percentage on the month’s total, less any amount its plan converts free each month. The payment fees: its fee per international payment, times your payments, less any its plan includes. The plan: its monthly fee. These are the figures the business FX comparison scores, with your payments in place of its single £10,000 one.

A few conditions sit outside the arithmetic. Revolut’s percentage is for weekdays in market hours; it charges more outside them. Airwallex waives its plan fee for a business that deposits or holds £10,000 a month, so a business sending that much may not pay it. Starling’s per-payment fee is its SWIFT fee, which applies to every currency; some can go by a cheaper local route. A one-off fee to open an account is shown under the plan, not added to the month.

For one payment worked through by hand, see the guide to paying a US supplier from a UK business.
